The flag
The original "Come and Take It" flag flew at Gonzales, Texas, in 1835: a cannon, a star and four words. Our version is black and white. One black star. Two DDR5 sticks crossed beneath it. COME AND TAKE IT across the bottom. No gradients, no gimmicks. A second version reads MY RAM, MY RULES.
Why it hit
On the Cheeky Pint podcast (episode 39), Sam Altman said this about memory in home PCs:
"But from a global allocation perspective, actually, it's quite terrible to have everybody have a bunch of the world's limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer."
He was talking about running AI at home and putting the world's memory supply to use in the cloud. Plenty of people heard something else: your computer is a waste of RAM. Gamers, builders, streamers and editors answered with a flag.
